Kenny does a great job reviwing this Yamaha Home theater system. He says you can hook this up to satellite or DVD using HDMI, and also supports 1080p. It sounds like a great system. Its designed for a dedicated home cinema . Check out the review in this video:

Looking at the video here, this TVee Boston Acoustics set of speakers look pretty sweet. You need lots of room for them - a large media viewing room is a must for the die hard enthusiast.. Or an empty, dry basement. $400 is a good price on this, also. Check it out:

My current favorite portable media player is the Sansa e200. I purchased the 4MB version while it was on sale at Best Buy for $99, last November. Since then, I have purchased several 2GB micro SD memory cards to extend the memory. The e200 is very convenient for me to use to carry data or project code amongst my client sites. Its much more powerful than a thumb drive. You can play mp3 files and mpeg-4 videos - the RockBox install is a must, as this allows you to boot into a different application environment, other than the default provided by Sansa, and this allows for you to be able to directly upload video files, instead of using their own proprietary converter (a real hassle sometimes).

I’ll post more details about how I get along with my Sansa e200 in a future post. I know there is an updated Sansa model available, and will give a review on this one, after I get a closer look. In the meantime, here’s a video on installing Rockbox on a Sansa e200 that might give you a precursory glimpse into what’s involved into making the e200 one of the coolest portable media players around for a low price.
